We are building Austria's largest marketplace for peer-to-peer contracts between businesses.
peer2peer.digital · Non-binding expression of interest until 31 Dec 2026
Peer-to-peer means: one business supplies electricity directly to another. Our marketplace brings the two together, as simple as a supply contract and with no association to join. Target: 8.9 ct/kWh, plus advantages when exchange prices go negative.
From 1 October 2026, the Austrian Electricity Industry Act (ElWG) allows direct supply from business to business, without the exchange and without intermediaries. Our target price applies once 10 million kilowatt-hours have been committed: 8.9 ct/kWh for offtakers, 7.5 ct/kWh for producers. When the exchange price is negative, the offtaker pays 6.0 ct/kWh and the producer receives 5.0 ct/kWh instead of paying for its feed-in. Until then there is no obligation: you state your volume, we search for suitable partners and propose them to you, accompany you to the direct supply contract and handle settlement with a leading software provider for energy communities.
The problem
In between sit the exchange and the intermediaries. The producer feeds in its surplus and receives the market value, at midday often only a few cents, on sunny days even negative prices. The same electricity passes through the exchange, the trader and the utility and reaches the offtaker as a fixed tariff, at a multiple of that. And many businesses have large roofs but no consumption of their own and no reliable offtaker. Those roofs stay empty.
The solution
From October 2026, the Austrian Electricity Industry Act (ElWG) allows direct supply from business to business. The producer supplies a company that consumes the electricity, and the price is agreed between the two. What used to be absorbed by three layers is now shared by the two parties that actually generate and consume the electricity. And roofs that stay empty today because the business below them needs no electricity get an offtaker before anything is built.
The price is fixed before delivery. It only applies if the volume comes together. Each individual commitment is non-binding; together they decide. Every free roof in Austria should deliver affordable industrial power.

Who the marketplace is made for
For businesses with 100,000 kWh or more per year. Your existing supply contract stays in place: only electricity generated at the same time is supplied directly, the rest comes from your utility as before. You release your load profile, we calculate what share of your consumption an installation covers. The price is fixed: 8.9 ct/kWh. To make extra consumption worthwhile in hours with a negative exchange price, it drops to 6.0 ct/kWh in those hours.
Express interest, no obligationFor installations from 50 kWp, whether photovoltaic, wind or hydro. Especially for installations above 500 kWp, whose electricity OeMAG no longer buys at market price, and for installations whose OeMAG contract is ending. You give us metering point and grid area, we look for offtakers whose load matches your feed-in. The protection against negative prices that OeMAG offers up to 500 kWp is available here for large installations too: you receive 5.0 ct/kWh instead of paying for your feed-in, because your offtaker takes the power in those hours.
Register installation, no obligationYou have the space, but the power would have no use in your own operation. With a secure offtaker, it becomes a project that pays off. We find the offtaker before you build: with a direct supply contract of at least 3 years, the revenue is fixed before the first module is laid. This can be combined with the market premium: the market premium secures the financing towards the bank for 20 years, peer-to-peer gets the better price for the hours supplied directly.
Register roof space, no obligationStatus of commitments
Signed letters of intent are counted, not expressions of interest. The targets are 15 million kWh of surplus and 50 million kWh of grid consumption, because not every kilowatt-hour finds a load in the same quarter-hour and an offtaker can cover 15 to 25 percent of its consumption directly.
Why both sides are needed
Hospitals, cold stores and data centres need electricity in every one of the 8,760 hours of the year. Photovoltaics covers the daytime hours, when cooling and air conditioning draw the most. Hydro and wind cover the night and the winter half-year. Together the three form a generation profile that fits a base load; no single technology does on its own.
That is why the marketplace brings sun, wind and water together with the businesses whose load fits each generation profile. The basis is 15-minute values, not annual totals.
Producer
A roof that delivers more at midday than the hall beneath it needs. Behind it, the wind turbines for the night.
The product: matching
A direct supply contract is only useful if generation and consumption fall in the same quarter-hours. That cannot be estimated; we calculate it from 96 values per day and metering point, for every pair we propose.
We search for partners deliberately: from the registered companies and installations we select those whose profile fits yours, verify the coverage and make the request. The analysis of 15-minute values and the search for matching profiles run on AI-assisted tools; every proposal is checked by us before it reaches you. The result is a partner proposal with volume, profile fit and annual amount that both sides can verify before anyone signs.
15-minute values of the metering points, released via the grid operator. Generation profile from technology, capacity and location.
From the pool we select the installations and businesses that could fit your profile, local area before Austria-wide, and calculate the coverage for each pair quarter-hour by quarter-hour over a year.
We approach the matching partners and introduce them to you, as many as your profile needs: usually one anchor and a few complements, with coverage share, volume and annual amount at the terms below.
Both sides decide. The marketplace provides the contract, grid operator registration, supplier forecast and monthly settlement.
The product: matching
Finding partners is work: analysing load profiles, comparing installations, approaching companies, preparing the contract and the grid operator registration. It is charged once per contract, not per kilowatt-hour. Those who already have a partner pay nothing for it.
No matching fee
For businesses up to 1 million kWh per year
For businesses from 1 million kWh or with several sites
All packages plus the one-off admission of 1,000 EUR per company. Amounts net, due only after the go decision in January 2027. Ongoing handling is included in the spread between purchase and sales price; there is no fee per kilowatt-hour.
Timeline
The marketplace is presented publicly. Non-binding registration opens.
Expression of interest, then letter of intent with release of load profiles. The counters show the status.
We disclose the committed volumes and the calculated matching. If the pool reaches 10 million kWh, the marketplace starts. If not, no costs arise.
Every business receives its partner proposals with volumes and price. Direct supply contracts are signed, metering points registered with the grid operator. In the local area this is possible from October 2026, Austria-wide with the new market processes from April 2027.
Expression of interest
To begin with we only need your company, a contact person and whether you consume or generate electricity. Annual volumes and metering point can be sent right away or later. The marketplace is aimed at offtakers with 100,000 kWh or more per year and producers from 50 kWp. Registration creates no obligation; it counts your volume towards the starting size.
Thank you
Within five working days you receive a first assessment and the letter of intent. If it is urgent: Book an appointment.
Consulting
The calculation uses your 15-minute values. Your latest electricity bill is enough to begin with.
Contact
In 30 minutes we clarify whether your business fits the pool as a producer, an offtaker or both, and what the next step is. Have your latest electricity bill to hand.
